We’ve been helping a local land owner with the development of his wind turbine project for the last few weeks. It’s an Enercon E53 machine, supplied from Germany. The package and specification is impressive. The machine will generate 500kW of electricity at full tilt.
Our main involvement has been assisting with the development of the scope for the enabling works and the oversight of the construction of the improvements to the existing farm access, new haul roads and crane base for the turbine erection. We’re also acting as Principal Contractor under the CDM regulations.
We’re progressing with the development of the structural steelwork for the transformer and the GRP switchrooms. Tower sections have arrived at site recently and the erection will commence shortly.
